Obama plans to help Syrian rebels

 U.S. President Barack Obama said Tuesday he is confident that Congress will vote in favor of U.S. military action in Syria, saying Washington had a broader plan to help the rebels to defeat the forces of President Bashar al-Assad. During a meeting with congressional leaders at the White House, Obama called for a quick vote in Congress and reiterated that the U.S. plan will be limited in scale and not repeat the protracted wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. "What we are expecting is somewhat limited’s proportionate. Degrade Assad capabilities, "said Obama.       


"Meanwhile, we have a broader strategy that will allow us to enhance the capabilities of the opposition," he added. Obama expressed his willingness to answer all the concerns of legislators on the request for authorization to use force that the White House sent to Congress. Moreover, Russia raised the alarm on Tuesday after detecting the release of two "ballistic objects in the Mediterranean Sea, but later said that Israel had carried out a missile test together with the United States.

There were no reports of any missile attack against Syria. Syrian Government sources said the missile fell into the sea without damage and there were no explosions in the capital Damascus, according to Russian news agencies’ first Russian news agencies on the pitch altered the financial markets because the United States has been preparing a possible military offensive in Syria after an alleged chemical attack made by the Syrian government in its war with rebels trying to overthrow President Bashar al-Assad.

"Deployment of ships armed with cruise missiles off the coast of Syria has a negative effect on the situation in the region," he added.
